Wow !!

Sorry we don’t have any photos but I am so pleased with Archer’s training for pulling a cart that I (Robin) had to brag about her. Archer’s been kept pretty busy. Keeley rides often, before work and on her days off, and Cadence rides Archer when Keeley can’t. There has been little time left over for Archer and me to work on harness training but when we do it is great. Archer loves to pull the tire around the different obstacles we set out and she has even been pulling the tire on some of the nearby dirt roads. A friend of ours loaned us the use of a cart but Archer hasn’t been hitched to the cart yet, mostly because I hate to barrow things I can’t replace if it happen to get broken. Currently, we are trying to save some extra cash to pick up a cart from next spring’s Amish Auction. The harness we bought at the last auction fits ok, it isn’t perfect, but seems to work alright with the tire. For a cart we will likely need a better fitting harness.

Our dream is to someday have Archer pull a sleigh and take friends out caroling for Christmas. The only hindrance to that dream is the cost of equipment. Archer certainly isn’t going to be a problem. Archer’s so eager to pull and she gets real precise when she is pulling her tire. It is really fun to work her. She also loves the cold weather, another plus in the sleigh favor.

Since Archer only get to pull when the girls are busy with other things there has never been anyone around to snap a photo. One of these days Keeley will be taking the reins and learning how to drive Archer, now that Archer knows, hopefully soon. When that happens I will be sure to take pictures or maybe video.
