Aliy was purchased in-utero from Free Spirit Farm a few years before FSF closed their doors. It was an awesome but scary decision. Yet, Aliy is everything we were looking for, a filly that is smart and loves to play games. She has proven herself to be exactly that.

Aliy was destined with dreams of greatness unfortunately she was involved in a traffic accident November 2019 suffering broken vertebrae in the middle of her croup. Aliy is doing quite well but has been left with some paralysis in one  of her rear legs and a paralyzed tail. Surprisingly, Aliy has improved beyond the expectations originally predicated by the vets. No longer requiring special feed she is handing life very well in her group of 3 other mares. Aliy is now happy doing beautiful Liberty work which allows her the freedom to compensate for her injury, if she needs to, on the days when the injury bothers her, mostly on cold days  of winter.

Initially veterinarians were conflicted as to whether Aliy will ever be breedable, Happily, Aliy has recovered better than hoped, probably due to a lot of pasture rest and a hill that forced her to exercise her muscles.
