Aliyah Farms.... Lippitt Morgans & one Appaloosa
Aliyah Heavenly Sunshine
Barn name - Sunshine or Sunny

Bay Full Lippitt Filly, no white markings
foaled at 08:35 April 11, 2020
DNA tested: EE/Aa (PSSM1 clear)

Foaled on a beautiful sun-drenched morning, following a long week of fluctuating Colorado spring weather, Sunny felt like the best choice in a name for this lovely filly.
Sunny's mother did a wonderful job with the birth and being her second foal she handled the process excellently. We are pretty sure Z Halcyon April would have preferred to foal in the dark but the night had been busy and unsettling for her. At the ranch several bison calves were separated from their mothers for weaning, so the night had been filled bellowing and balling from bison moms and babies alike. Additionally in the near fields the Farmer spent a the whole night plowing and harrowing each of the fields in a effort to have the job done before the Sunday's predicted snowstorm.
In the quiet time of the morning Mom decided it was time to deliver and brought forth the long awaited and lovely filly Sunny. Long awaited in that we had been looking forward to her since 2017 when we purchased semen from East of Equinox but then felt it better to hold off a year, after Crescendo had been born.

We have a wonderful vet, who did an awesome job preforming the AI from a single dose of frozen semen, that brought us Sunny. Unfortunately the second dose we had stored has been accidently damaged making it unusable. So we feel very fortunate that Sunshine has come in to being.

Z Halcyon April is a full Lippitt mare with extreme loyalty to her person. She loves trails and has that "Bear went over the mountain" attitude, nothing will stop her. She can go on forever with her fast, smooth, walk or in her Morgan trot ..... until you turn around to head home... then she slows down and drags her feet. April loves children and is very accommodating to their whims. Adults, she holds to a higher standard and expects mutual respect in a partner relationship none of the "I'm the Master Attitude", it doesn't work with her. She is so attentive to babies we have to keep our other foals far away from her as she will steel them from their true moms.
We are lucky to have April, from a successful line of working ranch horses, a daughter of the first Lippitt we were introduced to, himself a notable Lippitt stallion SANDROCK JOEL. The gorgeous Joel, sadly passed away at the age of 35, a son of EDGEWOOD HALLMARK another hard working ranch horse. April's pedigree is additionally influenced through the Lippitt stallions ROYALTON ASHBROOK DARLING and ASHBROOK, considered by A. F. Phillips, who valued the old style Morgan, to be the epitome of his breeding program. ASHBROOK was all Morgan, still carrying 25% of the blood of Figure, more than 100 years after Figure's death.
