Sport Horse

Aliyah Chantilly

Morgan Cross: Morgan (lippitt)/QH Mare

Foaled: April 10, 2018

Barn Name: Chantilly (The French pronunciation)

DNA tested: Ee/Aa (PSSM1 clear)

Bay Roan, Sporthorse, 15 h

Named after the Chantilly Race Track in France.

She sure is living up to her Sporthorse title.

Chantilly is everything we expected her to be. She's got smarts, bursting speed, loves attention, fantastic movement and extremally agile, knowing precisely where her feet are at all times. She very devoted, so much so that she would do best with an individual to which she is the only horse. She gets along with other horses well, but she would prefer not to have to share her person with other four legged friends.  Chantilly is reserved in new situations. She excels at liberty work, as well as doing her ground working skills with her favorite person. If I had to choose a single word to describe her it would be "Overachiever" she does everything with zest. She enjoys training so much it is hard to get her to quit when her session is over. She has been saddled and ridden for short periods of time but honestly we feel she needs more repetition and time before she be ridden regularly. This due to her willingness to learn, making it easy to push her beyond what she is truly ready for.

If Chantilly stays with us she will be doing western dressage and someday working equitation but we can see a future speed event horse in the making. She has beautiful movement with excellent suspension at the trot and everything is warped in a pretty packaged, under her bay roan coloring and lovely conformation.

Chantilly would be an awesome horse for a patient adult who considers the horse to person relationship (bond) essential to their partnership.  Chantilly's primary means of training has been Positive Reinforcement (Operant Conditioning) as it is easy to push her beyond her comfort zone with traditional training methods (pressure and release). She likes to learn, and learns very quickly. Therefore any potential owner must be confident and clear in their training  as well as be able to read Chantilly's emotions in order to have the greatest success without suffering set backs due to over zealous progression.

Height wise ... Chantilly gained her height quicker than her full blooded Morgan counter parts (Something which is common among Morgan crosses).  She stood 14.3 hands tall at 2 years old and is now about 15 hands tall and gaining width in her chest and shoulders.

Chantilly was dna tested for her mom's LP gene (Appaloosa) but she did not inherit the gene therefore she is bay roan.

SIRE
C-My Doc Holiday
Pure Lippitt Morgan

About Doc:  Doc is a full Lippitt Stallion (Old Style Morgan) with an amazing temperament. People are surprised to discover he is a stallion because of how sweet and easy going he is. Breeding wise Doc is strongly influenced by the celebrated Lippitt stallion STILLWATER INDIGO, who excel in numerous activities from driving to Mounted Police. Doc is sired by the late RYEGATE MAJOR whose strongest influence comes from Lippitt Ethan Ash, a Lippitt stallion known for producing lovely traditional and very Type Morgan horses. Ethan Ash's genetic power was strongly influenced by both Ethan Allen 3rd. and Ethan Allen 2nd. Ethan Allen 2nd., cornerstone stallion of the Lippitt family, was said to be strongest source during his lifetime to the blood of Figure.

DAM
Lil Red Thistle
QH/Appy

About Thistle:  Thistle is a sweet mare that wants to love but due to a rough start in life she doesn't trust humans easily. She stands 14 hands high and would make a great kids competition horse if her start in life had been less abusive.  On a straight away she has speed to burn and loves burning it. Even heavy in foal she still enjoys a good gallop and still does some pretty sharp turns too, round belly and all. Thistle is very athletic and pregnancy isn't slowing her down much. On the trail she gives the smoothest of rides. Her trot is beautifully floating. When not pregnant Thistle is being worked toward competing in Working Equation and Gymkhana events.

She's a people lover but galloping is her highest fascination. Beautiful smooth lead changes, agile, spunky, excellent movement with suspension. In this girls future we see a brilliant competition horse. Dressage, Gymkhana, truly the sky is the limit for this gal.
