Meet Little Red Thistle

Meet Thistle. Last July Cadence came home with a note saying she had a horse. The note was written by a neighbor who had a pant gelding they were boarding at a nearby facility. The note assured me that this little red horse was a horse Cadence could spend time with. The horse, Cadence named her Thistle, was one of 4 abandon horses at the facility.

Cadence fell in love with the horse immediately, it didn’t matter that the little horse was ill tempered and on the aggressive side, she had even bit Cadence while Cadence had been trying to make friends (I didn’t find that out until later).

By August Cadence offered to clean stalls in exchange for being able to spend time with the mare. In Mid August Cadence offered to buy the mare. Instead an arrangement was made that Cadence would work for one year at the stable cleaning stalls and then she could have the horse.

Cadence spent most of August just grooming the mare.
