Colic

I hardly know how to begin but let me start by saying Aliy has recovered and doing wonderfully. She surprised the veterinarians by recovering without surgery or any other complications. Several concerned friends arrived on scene and helped with Aliy. I greatly appreciate their aid. It was an alarming end to what had been a wonderful day.

Aliy’s colic was sudden and severe. Very quickly it was probable that we might have to relinquish Aliy from her misery or transport her to Colorado State University’s Veterinary Hospital and hope for the best. Yet, there were no promises she would make it.

Happily she did survive. Aliy spent two nights at the hospital before she was allowed to return home. No one knows why Aliy came down with colic. At CSU we were told that several horses in the area have coliced maybe due to the fluctuating weather since it has been hot one day and cold the next.

We are so HAPPY!!! Aliy is still with us.
