Thistle update

Thistle is doing better. She is over being sick and has survived the flooding. Over the last month or so Cadence has been doing a lot of bonding work as well as focusing on improving Thistle’s fitness. Everyday Cadence grooms Thistle: teaching Thistle to allow her hooves to be cleaned and to have various parts of her body touched and just being handled in general. Then the two do some ground work. Thistle hate’s lounging so we have added in obstacles and Cadence is beginning to teach Thistle some tricks. Tricks have become very important, functioning as a distraction for when Thistle get really obstinate, allow there to be an easy positive. For every good day there seems to be 3 or 4 days of bad. We have Thistle on a vitamin mix and she looks to be improving. Thistle is still very herd bound to her two buddies Starbuck and Shalimar.
